During the winter of 1777, the Continental Army, led by George Washington, was encamped at Valley Forge. Trained there by a Prussian General, Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand von Steuben, the army, despite the winter hardship, was prepared at Valley Forge, for the victory they eventually won.
